ESSOSA

Who would have thought that someone would be capable of replicating the feeling that we had while listening to Timbaland’s compositions? Well, Essosa could, and she outdid herself in her second EP « Essie’s World » released in 2024.
Although her viral hit “Waste My Time” , sampling Michael Jackson’s iconic “PYT” and hitting the Y2K lover’s niche, Essosa showed all that she got in this new project.
Every song is an eternal reference to artists that helped her shape her 90’s - 00’s inspired music, like Justin Timberlake that we can hear as much in “Spin the Block” that interpolates “Suit&Tie” than in “Only One”.
However, to reach that level of precision, she had to collaborate with people who could achieve what she wanted to accomplish.
Therefore, she linked with TSB, a British producer who made the dynamic and magnetic « Too Late » that not only matches with the Bree Runway’s provocative and powerful flow but also underlines Timbo’s percussions, key artist in the sound composition of the album. But “Guilty” is by far one of my favorite songs thanks to Sunset Driver, which made the perfect mix between Brandy and Destiny’s Child.
With her unique and soulful voice, tailored visuals, we get why she was co-signed by KAYTRANADA and even FLO. Her music is all about honoring classic 00’s hits and yet capturing the lyrical accuracy of her generation as she makes her way through the emerging UK R&B and Pop class along with Summer Banton, Shaé Universe, Jae Stephens, Sasha Keable and Absolutely.
Now it’s about time to stick to her music before she slips through our fingers, and “Muse” is the best way to stay updated. I’m counting on you, she HAS to blow up.
